Are you tired of gardening? (Well, me neither...) Fall is the best time to plant perennials. The plants may not look their very best, but this is the perfect time for planting. If you get them in the ground soon, they will have time to get their roots established before winter. Planting now is better because the ground is still warm. It's easier on both you AND the plants! Remember how long you had to wait to start planting last spring? Next year you will be able to look out the window and see everything coming up nice and strong, and a lot earlier, too! When you buy plants in the spring and plant them, they have to go through the shock of being transplanted and then work to recover. From now until September 30th, all of my perennials will be $3 each, except for the $1 plants. They will remain the same price. I have hundreds and hundreds of plants ready to go home with you, so don't think I'm running low. It's just the opposite - I need some room! If you visit my nursery before or after that, please feel free to walk around the gardens and have a little rest on the chairs. My little wrens will probably greet you, and I feel sure you'll see some chipmunks, too. Plants shown are: false dragonhead, ajuga, lamium, black eyed susans, chocolate mint, orange day lilies, dianthus, hens and chicks, large white hostas, hostas, Japanese anemone, lily of the valley, pink peonies, persicaria (fleece flower), Rose of Sharon bush, Siberian iris, soapwort, stachys monieri, tall summer phlox, periwinkle, red wiegela bush, wild geraniums, white yarrow, pink wiegela bush. My Mother's Garden is located at 816 Lemonwood Court, Springwood Addition, across from Northrup High School, at the corner of Cook and Coldwater Roads. If I'm not here, please read the instructions on the garage door for self service. You may choose the plants that you like and place the money in the slot on the garage door. Happy shopping!
